Watch These Amazing 100g Robots Pull A Car

The latest battery of experiments at Stanfords Biomimetics and Dextrous Manipulation Lab dealt with harnessing the power of ants in robot form specifically, researchers hoped to replicate ants ability to work together to haul very heavy objects.

To prove just how powerful the robots are, scientists took a group of six Tugs which can pull up to 23kg each and had them move a full-sized car with a passenger inside.

This research inspired by such teamwork examples how the ways that microrobots move effects their ability to work in teams.

With careful consideration to robot gait, Stanford demonstrates a team of 6 super strong micro Tug microrobots weighing 100 grams pulling the authors unmodified 3900lb car on polished concrete.
